GU Wants Neighbors' Input in Master Plan Interactive Survey

MyCommute and MyCampus surveys are available online through April 16.

Georgetown University's master planning team is seeking community input through an an online interactive survey that gathers data on how people interact with the campus. Two surveys, MyCommute and MyCampus, are available online through April 16. Partipants use an interactive map to chart how they get to and from campus as well as how they get around campus. Participants can also rate their most common places to visit, whether it is the gym, a lecture hall or, for students, a dorm. 'Georgetown Downtown' is Official

The university signed a lease for space at 650 Massachusetts Ave. NW.

"Georgetown Downtown" is the name given to the 91,000-square-foot space Georgetown University officially inked a deal on to house its growing School of Continuing Studies, according to a University announcement Thursday. Zoning Commission Unanimously Approves Georgetown Campus Plan

The decision ends hours of hearings and years of discussions.

With less than an hour of discussion, the Zoning Commission unanimously approved the Georgetown Campus Plan on Monday night, bringing hours upon hours of hearings and years of fraught negotiations between Georgetown University and the community that surrounds it to a close. "I'll be talking about this for a long time. ... I'll be talking about the agreement that was made over in Georgetown and encouraging people to do that," Commissioner Anthony Hood said. In June, the University and the community reached an agreement on a plan that runs from 2011-2017 and they agreed to develop a 20-year plan for GU together. Georgetown Campus Plan Saga Ends Tonight

The Zoning Commission will consider the agreement reached between the University and the community.

Tonight, the Zoning Commission will weigh in on the agreement recently reached between Georgetown University and its neighbors on the Georgetown University Campus Plan. Barring any entirely unexpected issues, the meeting should bring to a close a fraught chapter in Georgetown town-gown relations. The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. at the Zoning Commission offices downtown (441 4th St., NW #200). GU Plan Agreement Must Wait One More Week for Zoning Commission

Neighbors and university officials will see the final resolution of the campus plan agreement Monday, July 16 at 6:30 p.m.

A small group of dedicated Georgetown University Campus Plan leaders came into a Zoning Commission meeting Monday night with smiles, but left with bewildered expressions. Instead of making a final rule Monday as the community had expected, commissioners moved to make their final decision on the agreement next Monday, July 16. Though the meeting last night was listed as the "Final Action" on the campus plan, the finality of that action was limited to determining whether an additional hearing on the agreement was needed. Commissioners decided that another hearing was unnecessary. Next week's meeting is listed on the Zoning Commission calendar as "FINAL ACTION: Georgetown University - 2011 Campus Plan." Revised Campus Plan Unanimously Approved by Georgetown ANC

Commissioners approved the new agreement at a meeting Thursday night.

Georgetown University's revised campus plan received unanimous approval from the Advisory Neighborhood Commission at a public meeting Thursday. Under a recently reached agreement, the university and the community agreed to create a new Georgetown Community Partnership to develop better ties and communication so that future campus plans can avoid the fractious discussions and hearings of the of the past year and a half. "The partnership will be the framework for all of our future dialogues," said University President John DeGioia during a press conference on June 6. A public meeting at 6:30 p.m. will allow residents to give feedback on the agreement reached last week

Members of the Georgetown community can have their say about the recently reached agreement on revisions to the Georgetown University campus plan at a public meeting tonight at 6:30 at Georgetown Visitation.  As part of the new agreement, Georgetown University will answer neighbor complaints by moving many undergraduate students out of off-campus housing and into on-campus rooms, a short-term solution proposed in Advisory Neighborhood Commission documents. In the short term Georgetown proposes to add 450 beds on campus by fall 2015. Among those, 65 will be moved from the “Magis Row” townhouses on 36th Street NW an onto campus by fall 2013. Georgetown University will answer neighbor complaints by moving many undergraduate students out of off-campus housing and into on-campus rooms, a short-term solution proposed in Advisory Neighborhood Commission documents. GU also will begin the search for a large satellite campus to allow growth in the long-term, the documents say. The proposals are part of a 10-year campus plan that follows years of discussions between community leaders and university officials. The sides also agreed to create the Georgetown Community Partnership to ensure short-term plans are effective and to develop a 20-year plan for GU. GU Plan Agreement Reached, Hailed as 'Prototype' for Future Negotiations

Leaders from District Government, the University and the community announced Wednesday that the Georgetown Campus Plan debate has come to an end.
