Hitched Salon and Carine's Bridal Atelier slashed wedding dress prices on Thursday evening.
Two Georgetown wedding dress shops lured brides-to-be into the stores on Thursday evening for special semi-annual sample sales. Hitched Salon and Carine's Bridal Atelier offered deep discounts on floor samples of designer dresses that had become too shop worn or had been discontinued. In some cases, dresses originally marked above $5,000 were on sale for less than $1,000 - many with high-end designer labels attached to them. Patch popped into both stores on Thursday to check out what the hype was all about.

Authorities say recent publicity blitz has produced strong leads in the investigation.
Authorities say fewer than 10 men have volunteered to submit DNA samples for analysis after law enforcement officials began a blitz campaign last year to track down a suspect dubbed the "Potomac River Rapist." The Associated Press reports "investigators have met with some men," and analysis of the DNA is underway. Police are looking for a man they believe is connected to nine attacks against women between 1991 and 1998, most of which occurred in Montgomery County. Mirzayan, 28, was walking home before she was sexually assaulted and murdered in a wooded area off of Canal Road. More information about the investigation and a composite sketch…

The fro-yo chain has expanded with a new location on M Street.
Pinkberry has arrived in Georgetown. Though the new M Street store was to have been the first location for the L.A.-based chain in the D.C. area, it comes in at number five instead. D.C. area chain owner Stavros Roberts said when he first got the go-ahead to open stores in the region three years ago, Georgetown was his first stop. But he said the real estate market in the neighborhood initially made it hard for him to find just the right location. Eventually Karen Snyder, who owns the building at 3288 M St., worked with Roberts to create a space for the new Pinkberry store at the former home of the Sangaree clothing store.
