Georgetown Park Mall has yet to announce any new tenants.

The Georgetown Park Mall continues to generate interest among larger retailers, but Vornado Realty Trust has yet to announce any new tenants. Rumored  potential tenants include Bloomingdale's, Lord & Taylor, T.J. Maxx and Michaels, according to The Washington Post. Bloomingdale's had previously expressed interest in opening a "Soho Concept" store in Georgetown prior to the mall's public auction several years ago that brought in Vornado Realty Trust and Angelo, Gordon & Co. Ward 2 Councilman Jack Evans told The Post that Bloomingdale's would not require a tax incentive to come to Georgetown. “They were excited about going to Georgetown Park and didn’t need TIF money,” Evans told the Post. Local Tobacco Shop Wears Many Hats

Last week Georgetown Tobacco got back into the hat business.

The local tobacconist is as mad as a hatter. Georgetown Tobacco (3144 M St.) has resumed its sale of luxury men's hats and now, the store owner believes, he is the only such hat provider in Georgetown. David Berkebile, who first opened the store 46 years ago, used to sell hats in the 1990s along with the shop's usual collection of cigars, tobacco pipes and various odds and ends like cuff links and Venetian masks. He used to sell "all the better hats in the world" including models made in Italy and the United States. He sold about 100 hats a year, ranging in price from $90 to $2,000 for handmade hats, but abandoned the business five years ago. Now, following the closing of a The Hattery in Georgetown Park and Proper Topper's Georgetown …

Owners Han and Deborah Kim met at the Culinary Institute of America in New York and moved to the D.C. just under two years ago. The Macaron Bee had its Georgetown debutante moment at a January Advisory Neighborhood Commission meeting when the owners' initial concept of serving the colorful treats out a folding front window brought on a 40-minute debate. They ultimately nixed the window idea. The small space will be no more than 200 square feet and will offer no seating; just a long display case, brimming with colorful hand-made macarons. When asked in February about the name for their new store, Deborah …
