GU Farmers' Market Returns Wednesday
The farmers' market is just inside Georgetown University's gates at 37th and O Streets NW.
Georgetown University's farmers' market will return from it's winter hiatus this Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m. and runs through May 9, the end of the spring semester. Fresh produce and flowers as well as baked goods and salsas are for sale. This season the market also includes homemade crafts, mini-lectures and live music. The farmers' market started in spring 2011 thanks to students in a Health Promotion/Disease Prevention course at Georgetown's School of Nursing & Health Studies. Last spring there was only one market day, which served as a trial. The market returned in September 2011 and ran through mid-October.
