Wisconsin Avenue and M Street Intersection to Close Sunday Night

The intersection will be closed to traffic beginning at 11 p.m.

The intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and M Street will close temporarily Sunday night starting at 11 p.m. and will remain closed until 4 a.m. Monday morning as crews hang holiday decorations. The Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID) will install a large hanging holiday ornament and lights over the intersection Sunday night. According to a news release from the District Department of Transportation, "Marked detours will be set up to guide motorists and cyclists around the closure. The work may also require temporary closures of the sidewalks at the intersection." Though the holiday star decoration will not be exactly like the snowflake that hung in the same spot several years ago, but it will have "the same feeling," explained …
