Britt Ryan Opens Boutique on Wisconsin Avenue

The women's fashion boutique replaces The Dog Shop.

Britt Ryan has opened a signature store in Georgetown at 1625 Wisconsin Ave. NW. The space was formerly home to The Dog Shop. The store's first day in business was Friday during the French Market. Britt Ryan designer, Britt Eldridge, had been working out of the company's Newbury Street store in Boston, but she is now moving to Georgetown and will be working locally. The line of dresses, bold printed blouses and other items is produced entirely in the USA in New York. The Britt Ryan label is carried in over 200 boutiques across the country, including several in Old Town Alexandria, Va. The company is hiring part-time help at the Georgetown location. The Georgetown store hours are Mon. through Sat. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.

Georgetown Fashion's Night Out Planned for Sept. 6

Shoppers can strut their stuff, get great deals from local retailers at annual event.

For the third year in a row, Georgetown will host DC's Fashion's Night Out, an event that showcases Georgetown store events, live entertainment, shopping opportunities late into the night and other festivities. This year's event is scheduled from 6 to 11 p.m. Sept. 6. "Fashion's Night Out Georgetown has really become one of DC's most exciting, highly anticipated fashion events that everyone can have fun with, and we are excited to serve as an official host for the third year in a row," Nancy Miyahira, marketing director at the Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID), said in a press release. This year's highlights include a "pop-up disco outdoor dance floor with booty-shaking DJ tunes," and a shopper's lounge, designer trunk shows …

M29 Gets New Digs

The retailer has moved inside the Four Seasons

M29 will re-open Friday inside the Four Seasons hotel. The retailer had previously occupied the space at the corner of M and 29th Streets, but that has been leased to Suitsupply. The new space inside the porte-cochere will offer an additional 1,000 sqare feet of retail and soon-to-be cafe space. Cafe m @ M29LIFESTYLE will open this fall, according to a press release. The cafe will offer a small outdoor courtyard and stroller parking. Menu offerings, ranging from pastries to gourmet popcorn, will be prepared daily by Four Seasons Hotel’s Executive Chef, Douglas Anderson. The store hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday thru Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
