The trend-setters of Washington came out in force for the Tuesday evening party

Georgetown's historic Halcyon House played host to trend-setters and Gilt groupies for the Gilt City launch party on a (slightly less) warm evening Tuesday. Guests enjoyed summer drinks like mint juleps, ginger limeade (with a kick) and other cool thirst quenchers, while taking in views of the Potomac, Arlington and M Street. Gilt City Launch Party Planned for Georgetown Tuesday

The membership site offers high-end local services and deals

Updated 2 p.m. Tuesday night, an invitation-only party at the Halcyon House will celebrate the launch of Gilt City in Washington, D.C. At the event some 200 of Washington's most socially involved residents will enjoy a garden party, according to Gilt City's D.C.- based event organizer Barbara Martin of BrandLinkDC. Martin said guests should expect cocktails, snocones and garden games like croquet. Gilt announced the D.C. launch along with new sites in Atlanta, Dallas, and Seattle; the service is now available in 10 cities. According to the Washington Scene blog in The Hill, the host committee includes Juleanna Glover, Winston Lord, Susanna Quinn, Lindsay Czarniak and Craig Melvin.
