Kavanagh's Offers Last Supper, Last Lunch This Week

The Glover Park institution is closing after more than eight years of business on Wisconsin Avenue.

Kavanagh's Pizza Pub, 2400 Wisconsin Ave. NW, will in all likelihood close this week after eight-and-a-half years of serving up pizza in the Glover Park community. The circumstances surrounding the closure and its timing are a bit unclear. A post on the restaurant's Facebook page says the "plan" is to close this week. The last dinner service would be Wednesday and the last lunch service would be Thursday, with the doors closing at 3 p.m. for good. But when Patch called and spoke with Lee Abbott, who owns and operates the restaurant with her husband Kevin McFillin, she said "nothing is definite yet."
