Chimes and Alumni Charm at Tombs

Georgetown traditions continue this weekend with Chimes Night at the Tombs.

Georgetown homecoming weekend brings together alumns and current students to celebrate the University and its many traditions. One such tradition is Chimes Night at the Tombs, the local watering hole of St. Elmo's fame. The Chimes, an all-male a capella group, have sung once a month at the Tombs for 48 years. Georgetown Gatherings and Goings-On Sept. 23-25

There's always something to do in Georgetown. Here are my top picks for the weekend.

Well, Georgetown, fall is upon us. Despite the heat the latter part of this week, the weekend is ripe for cooler temperatures, sleeping with your bedroom windows open (unless you live on the ground floor, then don't), and enjoying the festivals of fall. There are so many things to do this weekend, you will have to check our calendar to see them all, but here are my picks for a weekend well-spent in the neighborhood. Friday evening, you can take two routes: fashion or family. For fashion, head to the Fashion for Autism event at the City Tavern Club. Check out the very latest fashions from New York's Fashion Week right here in D.C. Local celebrities including both a current and former Miss D.C. will be on hand to set the tone for the evening…
