JoS. A. Bank Opens in Georgetown
The menswear retailer officially opens for business Friday.
Menswear retailer JoS. A. Bank opens today at 1815 Wisconsin Ave. NW in north Georgetown, near the Social Safeway. The store had a "soft opening" Thursday. This is the men's retailer's fourth Washington, D.C. location. The mid-sized location is spread across some 4,000 square feet and is staffed by a team of four salesmen and one manager. Store manager George Gelinas told Patch he thinks their location in Burleith is perfect. "First, Georgetown residents will be able to enjoy the distance from the very crowded M Street scene which offers easy access to our location. Second, we share a parking lot with two other businesses and the Safeway across the street provides customers with additional parking opportunities," he wrote in an email. They…

First off, I wish to welcome JoS A. Bank, and its manager, Mr. Gelinas, to our community. We are pleased to have them here. However, I would point out to him that the store location is NOT in Burleith, but rather in the Old Georgetown Historic District as designated by Congress. Further, I'd mention that use of the Safeway store parking lot by his customers is contrary to the representations made… more ›
