Taking the Metro to get around this weekend? Blue, Yellow and Green line trains will operate on normal weekend schedules. If you are taking the Red or Orange lines this weekend, you will want to read on. According to a Metro news release: Red Line Red Line trains will single track between through two work zones: Throughout the weekend, trains between Shady Grove and Glenmont will operate every 24 minutes. Between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, additional trains will operate between Grosvenor and Judiciary Square, resulting in service an average of every 12 minutes between these stations. Metro will stay open an hour later Dec. 3.
If you are relying on Metro for part of your trip home from the Redskins game Monday night, you are in luck. Metro will remain open an extra hour to accommodate fans leaving the Redskins game Monday against the New York Giants at FedEx field. According to a Metro news release, the last Blue Line train in the direction of Franconia-Springfield will leave the Morgan Boulevard station at 12:25 a.m., and the last Blue Line train to Largo Town Center will depart at 1:33 a.m. Metro customers will be able to transfer to other lines at the following stations: Though Metro entrances will close at the normal time, riders will be able to exit from the stations normally.

WMATA has announced its holiday schedule for Thanksgiving Day: On Friday, Metro will operate on a normal weekday schedule. No track work is scheduled until Sunday evening on the Red and Blue lines.
