Mason Inn Owner to Operate New GU Campus Pub

F.B. “Fritz” Brogan III is an alumnus of Georgetown University.

F.B. “Fritz” Brogan III will be the operator of the new on-campus pub planned for the Healey Family Student Center at Georgetown University. Brogan owns the Mason Inn in Glover Park and is an investor in the Georgetown bar, George. He received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in 2007 and his law degree in 2010. Brogan said he is "honored" at being selected from among 19 different restaurateurs and restaurant groups to operate the new pub. "As a life-long Hoya, I'm incredibly excited about this project. Students deserve a place on campus where they can socialize and hang out," said Brogan in an email to Patch. Healey Family Student Center Designs, Funding Show 'Momentum'

New Georgetown University facility could break ground this summer.

Georgetown University hopes to break ground on the Healey Family Student Center, a new gathering place for campus social life, as soon as this summer. Construction would begin this fall with the goal of opening the new space by Fall 2014. "There's a lot of momentum," behind the project according to Todd Olson, GU's vice president of student affairs. The Healey Family Student Center, formerly referred to as the New South Student Center, will occupy some 30,000 square feet at the base of the New South dorm on campus. The space was previously a dining room and now houses a few university offices. The student center will include meeting spaces, dance practice rooms, dining options, event spaces and a pub, among other amenities. Olson said he …

On-Campus Pub to Have 'Substantially Equivalent' Hours to Off-Campus Bars

Student leaders signed a memorandum of understanding for the New South Student Center pub with Dr. Todd Olson, Georgetown’s vice president of student affairs, Thursday.

Georgetown University students want their future on-campus pub to offer hours for alcohol sales that are similar to bars in the Georgetown neighborhood that students frequent. The New South Student Center, a $15.5 million project, is meant to provide a center on campus for student social life.
