Frye Shoe Company Coming to Georgetown

The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the U.S.

If a new permit filed with the DC government is any indication, The Frye Company has plans to come to 1066 Wisconsin Ave. NW in Georgetown. Italian restaurant Papa-Razzi called 1064-1066 Wisconsin Ave. NW home until it closed unexpectedly in May. The Frye Company appears on the Old Georgetown Board Jan. 3 agenda, requesting concept review of "alterations to storefront, sign scheme for 'The Frye Company'." Papa-Razzi Closes Its Doors Forever

Papa-Razzi, the Italian Restaurant at 1064-1066 Wisconsin Ave. NW, is now closed, the Georgetown Dish reports. The Georgetown location was the only D.C. area restaurant for the small chain of 11 (now 10) stores, which are mostly in Massachusetts. Though a chain, the restaurant was welcoming to large groups and often served as a gathering place for birthday, graduation and other celebrations for both Georgetown students and the community. Though the Dish cites a rumor that the space was sold, the D.C. Recorder of Deeds does not currently list any recent transactions. Patch has reached out to Papa-Razzi for comment and will provide an update when we receive additional information. Georgetown still has many Italian restaurants to choose from …
