Manny & Olgas, the purveyor of pizza, subs, wings and more, will add four new locations in the DC area, according to the Washington City Paper. The fast food carry-out and delivery restaurant has 10 area locations already, including the brightly painted basement storefront at 1641 Wisconsin Ave. NW in Georgetown. The new locations will be in College Park, Rockville, Brookland, and H Street.

Lines lagged down Wisconsin Avenue for the the grand opening of HomeMade Pizza Co. The bake-at-home pizza shop held a three day promotional launch, where they offered crowds loads of fresh pizza samples and salads. The company specializes all-natural and fresh ingredients. A friend and I recently took a recommendation and tried Il Canale Ristorante and Pizzeria Napoletana at 1063 31st St. Naples-style Italian food focuses on the culinary creation that originates from Naples: pizza. With great ambiance, great wine and delicious food, Il Canale will not disappoint. Napoli pizza features a softer rather than thicker crust and is cooked in a wood burning oven. There's always something to do in Georgetown. Here are my top picks for the weekend.
With the rain gone and a nip in the air, time to slip into fall and slow it down a little this weekend. Friday, Oct. 1, indulge in two of my biggest guilty pleasures, pizza and beer. Not just any pizza and beer. Oven fresh pizza that costs a pretty penny more than your average delivery service and seasonal beer made for true snobs.
