Video: Stoddert Teacher Takes the (Polar Bear) Plunge
"Mr. D" ran into the icy waters of the Potomac River Saturday.
Stoddert Elementary School teacher Steve Dingledine plunged into the icy waters of the Potomac River at National Harbor as part of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network's (CCAN) 8th annual Polar Bear Plunge Saturday. Dingledine, known at Stoddert as "Mr. D," was one of 169 dedicated fundraisers listed on the event website. According to the CCAN explanation of the event, "Our mission is to build and mobilize a powerful grassroots movement in this unique region that surrounds our nation’s capital to call for state, national and international policies that will put us on a path to climate stability."
