Art Exhibit Pops Up in Future Restaurant Space
The future home of Malmaison is temporarily playing host to the Water Street Project through April 29.
Before Malmaison, the latest restaurant by the Popal family, opens later this year, the space at 3401 Water St. NW is serving as a pop-up art exhibit. Appropriately named the Water Street Project, the exhibit features art, music and nightly events through April 29. The pop-up is a collaboration between The Popal Group and No Kings Collective that resulted in a "forward thinking concept, of art, culinary and culture," according to the project website. Artists include Kelly Towles, Brandon Hill, James Kerns, Dafna Steinberg, Kate Campagna, Maggie O’Neill, James Meade, Paul Mericle, Billy Mode, Gaia, Gregg Deal, Jacqueline Levine, Drew Storm Graham, Tariq Tucker, and Hamilton Riley.
