Hyde-Addison Fifth Grade Students Graduate

Principal Dana Nerenberg told students, 'you have all the tools you need.'

The fifth grade students at Hyde-Addison Elementary School processed into St. John's Episcopal Church on O Street as fifth graders, but left as rising sixth graders. The small group of students and their families began the ceremony by reminiscing over a photo slideshow. Images of the now tall fifth grade students showed them not so long ago as tiny pre-school students. The students then performed a rendition of the song "Tomorrow (A Better You, A Better Me). The song spoke of the power of tomorrow and the promise of the future, "we can go anywhere we want," they sang. Behind the Principal Selection Process at Hardy Middle School

Dr. Mary Stefanus was recently selected to serve as the new principal at Hardy Middle School. How was she picked?

After a year of discord and turnover, Hardy Middle School ends another school year with the current principal leaving and a new one ready to take the helm. Dr. Mary Stefanus will be the new principal at Hardy beginning July 5, as she replaces interim Principal Daniel Shea, who took over mid-year for Hyde-Addison Principal Dana Nerenberg. There are many differences in comparing this year's leadership transition to last year's, but one of the primary differences is that parents, staff, students and the community had a say in the selection of the new principal.
