The fifth grade students at Hyde-Addison Elementary School processed into St. John's Episcopal Church on O Street as fifth graders, but left as rising sixth graders. The small group of students and their families began the ceremony by reminiscing over a photo slideshow. Images of the now tall fifth grade students showed them not so long ago as tiny pre-school students. The students then performed a rendition of the song "Tomorrow (A Better You, A Better Me). The song spoke of the power of tomorrow and the promise of the future, "we can go anywhere we want," they sang. After a year of discord and turnover, Hardy Middle School ends another school year with the current principal leaving and a new one ready to take the helm.
