The Examiner: Incident happened Tuesday morning on the Red Line.
This probably isn't what Metro had it mind when it adopted the slogan "Metro opens doors." The transit agency says it is looking into why the doors of a Red Line train traveling in the direction of Shady Grove opened while the train was moving Tuesday morning, The Washington Examiner reported. The incident occurred just after 9 a.m. in a tunnel between the Van Ness and Tenleytown stations, The Examiner reported. No one was injured. The two cars on which doors opened were taken out of service, Metro spokesman Dan Stessel told The Examiner. The cars are among the oldest in Metrorail's fleet, The Examiner reported. Taking the Metro to get around this weekend? Here’s what to expect. Metro's massive rebuilding effort will continue over the weekend of April 27-29 on the Red and Blue lines. The work will begin at 10 p.m. Friday, April 27, and continue through system closing on Sunday, April 29. Here is a summary of the work:

No weekend track work is scheduled while the blossoms are at their peak around the Tidal Basin.
Metro's rigorous schedule of weekend track work will take a break for the next several weeks to accommodate Metro riders heading downtown for cherry blossom viewing and festivities. Starting Saturday, March 24, there will be no scheduled weekend track work on the Metrorail system through Sunday, April 15, according to Metro's website. Weekend track work will not resume until Friday, April 20. And, there will be no midday track work during the weekdays between Monday, March 26, and Friday, April 13. Taking the Metro to get around this weekend? Here’s what to expect. This marks the final weekend of track work for the year. There will be no scheduled track work during the Christmas or New Year's holiday weekends. Red Line The most significant work of the weekend will take place on the Red Line, where crews will advance efforts to stabilize a water main that runs through the mezzanine level of Farragut North Station. The heavy construction work requires that one Red Line track be taken out of service between Dupont Circle and Judiciary Square for the safety of workers and customers.
