Rocco 'Rocky' DelMonaco will leave his role effective June 30.
Rocco DelMonaco — known to neighbors for his weekly "Rocky's Report" public safety emails — is leaving Georgetown University effective June 30. He came to GU in 2007 to serve as Vice President for University Safety and took on the added role of chief of the Department of Public Safety in 2010. DelMonaco announced his departure earlier this month. Rocky's Report, the weekly Wednesday report on public safety department activity on campus and in the community, will be put on an indefinite hiatus in his absence. Rocky's Report was rolled out during campus plan discussions as a tool to communicate GU's efforts to enforce its behavior policies for students living outside the campus gates. January 18, 2012 – Hi everyone. It's Rocky here. Thanks for coming back to take a look at Rocky’s Report in the new year. Our spring semester is underway. We are looking to continue the progress we made in the last semester in keeping our campus safe and keeping our neighbors informed about important public safety updates. Our cooperation with MPD continues and we are grateful for their hard work in helping us prevent and deter crime. Over the weekend we had 15 MPD officers out in the neighborhoods near campus. They joined our DPS officers who were on foot patrols and on bikes. No snow so far this winter means we have been able to keep our bike patrols active, and we are finding them to be an effective way to move our officers through the…
