Fate and the Market Place Bring Roosters to Georgetown

A Georgetown man's haircut at a barbershop outside of Boston played a critical role in bringing a new business to the neighborhood.

Roosters, a new mens barbershop and grooming center, is coming to Georgetown thanks to a mix of fate and just the right market forces. The DC location will be at 1815 Wisconsin Avenue, tucked behind JoS A. Bank and Noodles & Co. John Santanella, the franchise owner, told Patch that he had looked at the space in the new business center on Wisconsin Avenue about a year and a half ago. "There’s not a a lot of high-end mens' grooming establishments in the market place," in DC he explained. But at the time he was also opening a franchise closer to home near Boston. Roosters Men's Grooming Salon Coming to Georgetown

The salon chain has locations in 19 states, including one in Ashburn, Va.

Roosters Men's Grooming Center is coming to north Georgetown at 1815 Wisconsin Ave. The salon will occupy 1,400 square feet of retail space in the new development next to the Safeway. It will share the same lot with Noodles & Company and JoS. A. Bank. The company was founded in Michigan in 1999 with the goal of bringing back a "real barbershop committed to the best in men's personal grooming," according to the company website. They offer services from haircuts to shaves to beard trimming and more. Customers can try the "Gentleman's Choice," which includes the Roosters Club Cut and the Signature 7 Step Facial Shave.
