2013 DC Summer Outdoor Films Guide

Movies under the stars outdoors this summer in DC and beyond.

A great summer tradition in the DC area is watching movies outside. Here's a round-up of what's coming in 2013. Several DC-area outdoor film festivals start in May! DC Screen on the Green — Screen on the Green has not released its schedule of movies for 2013 yet. For updates, go to the Screen on the Green Facebook page. NoMa Summer Screen — The NoMa Business Improvement District presents movies at sunset every Wednesday from May 22 – Aug. 21. Screen on the Green and Other Summer Outdoor Film Fests

Summer outdoor movie series abound in Washington, DC and just today the Screen on the Green 2012 picks were announced. The four Screen on the Green films will be shown Monday July 16 through Monday August 6. Three of the films will appear on Mondays, though one will run on a Wednesday evening because of the National Mall rehabilitation. Monday, July 16th: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid Wednesday, July 25th: It Happened One Night *Note weekday change!* Monday, July 30th: From Here to Eternity Monday, August 6th: Psycho The films are shown on a 20-foot by 40-foot screen on the National Mall between 7th and 12th Streets NW. Summer Outdoor Movies Options Abound

Nearby neighborhoods offer outdoor movies to fit any schedule.

Looking for a fun outdoor activity to do with out of town guests or a novel evening for the family. An outdoor movie might just fit the bill. Luckily there are plenty of options nearby for enjoying a bit of cinema in the fresh air. Mondays Crystal Screen Outdoor Film Festival: "By The Numbers" Enjoy a little weekend entertainment each Monday in Crystal City.
