Streets of Georgetown will close in January, just a little over a year after it opened at 1254 Wisconsin Ave. NW. The store first opened in Georgetown in November 2011. Michael A. Jackson, a manager at the Georgetown store, told Patch that Streets of Georgetown would be closing the second week of January because of the "financial situation" of its parent company. HMX Acquisition Corp., the parent company behind the Streets stores, filed for bankruptcy in October. Streets offered many of HMX Group's brands — including Hickey Freeman, Hart Schaffner Marx and Bobby Jones, Exclusively Misook, Coppley and Christopher Blue — under one roof.
