DMV's Future in Georgetown Uncertain
Mall landlords unwilling to confirm DMV's return to Georgetown Park.
Though city leaders have promised that the Department of Motor Vehicles will return to Georgetown, a representative for the Georgetown Park Mall made the agency's seem return a bit less certain. Scott Milsom, speaking for Georgetown Park Mall's landlords Vornado Realty Trust, told the Advisory Neighborhood Commission at a September meeting, that negotiations with the DMV were "ongoing." Milsom said "nothing has been finalized" and that it was his understanding that the DMV would prefer to be near a metro stop. Milsom's comments came as a surprise.
