ReplyJust another reason for people go choose Evanston for their home town. We have a superior fire department as well as police department. They both "SERVE & PROTECT" lives & property!

ReplyGee it seems that all Deb & the few other "KNOW NOTHINGS" just don't seem to understand that those arrested were the BAD GUYS! Did she ever take the time to consider that those BAD GUYS had the pit bull there for a reason & it wasn't for fun & games at the dog park! What are police did is rid our streets & neighborhoods of FIVE CRIMINALS that will make our streets safer for all of us!

ReplyEast bound Church from Ridge to Chicago avenue is extremly difficult. First the narrow east bound lanes due to the addition of the bike lanes. Also as you proceed east & enter the metra/CTA viaduct & exit you have to cut left because the driver has to avoid the cars parked on the south curb & then the bike lane right in front of any east bound car that is in the right (south) lane! Similar problem in the east bound lane between Sherman & Chicago avenues where there is "No Parking" on the south curb but cars & trucks still park while unloading passengers & freight causing any bike rider to move into the already narrower east bound vehicle lanes.
I sure hope more thought goes into the Davis Street bike lanes in 2013. -

ReplyThis discussion is as nuts as the NRA! The function of the NRA is to SELL GUNS & AMMO, NOTHING ELSE! They are the political lobby group to do anything & EVERYTHING to increase the sales of the gum manufacturing companies. Listen to what that "dummy" from the NRA said in his "preprinted speech" & never got off script, even after two people displayed those anti NRA signs. If anybody viewed the Sunday news shows where the news hosts attempted to ask the NRA "talking heads" some other options like closing those open gun markets, only replyed with the same "prepared talking points"! Maybe the govenment & news media should investigate just how much monies the gun companies pay the NRA???

ReplySince the gun "buy back" program is for Evanston residents only, that instead of giving cash that we involve businesses in Evanston & give CASH CARDS that can be used in the many businesses in Evanston ie; gas stations & resturants. Also retail stores like clothing & grocery stores. These stores would see an increase in local sales & possibly get involved in the program by offering additional discounts to all who may use those "cash cards".

Our police work to "SERVE & PROTECT" & they do that for EVERYONE, especially our school kids REGARDLESS of their race or religion! To control the areas around our schools will PROTECT all of our children! If we have police protecting our politicians why not our kids??? Do it & do it NOW!!!
