Georgetown Sweetgreen Re-Opened Wednesday
The DC Department of Health closed the Georgetown sweetgreen Monday.
The sweetgreen in Georgetown, at 3333 M St., NW, re-opened Wednesday about 48 hours after it was closed by the DC Department of Health (DOH).
Tuesday a sweetgreen spokesperson told Patch the restaurant was closed because the salad shop's business license had expired and they needed a new sink.
A report posted to the DOH website confirmed both the expired business license and the new sink requirement. During a visit Aug. 19 inspectors identified four critical and seven non-critical violations at sweetgreen Georgetown. Since one of those violations was an expired business license, the shop was closed until a new license was secured.
Sweetgreen announced on Twitter that the Georgetown location had re-opened around noon Wednesday.
"Hey georgetown - good news! we're back open for business with a shiny new sink and all," the official Twitter account tweeted.
A spokesperson for sweetgreen told Patch that they passed inspection Wednesday morning.
